PaddyCake Prints a success – again!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

We hosted PaddyCake Prints on October 10th for the 2nd time.  And, once again it was a huge success!  For those of you that aren’t familiar with what they do you must check out their website www.paddycakeprints.com.  In short, they make ceramic impressions of your little ones’ hands and/or feet.  This was my second time around and instead of making another impression of his hands/feet, I chose to make a holiday ornament that included all 5 fingers from his right hand.  It’s exciting to to choose your colors and ribbons the day of the impression, but it’s even more fun to get the fancy bag all dressed up and “unwrap” the finished product.  I CAN’T WAIT to see it!!

It was nice to see everyone in a more casual light.  I think all of the kids had a great time running around the office and playing with all of the toys.  I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know that mine at least, slept GREAT after our morning out.  He didn’t even make it out of the parking lot “awake”.  That’s the definition of a successful morning, I mean what Mom doesn’t love that?!

I LOVE what I do!

Recently I have been inspired by the people I have helped and felt like I need to share that joy with others.  An adorable 2 week old boy with torticollis and resultant breastfeeding difficulties is now progressing with his feeding after only seeing him yesterday!  His parents are so happy and of course so am I; how special to restore the natural bond between baby and parent for a healthier future.  And a great man that works with heavy machinery came in this morning to say he feels more like his old self again and can work without feeling “old” and in pain!

I write about those few cases to show how rewarding it is for me to be able to help others each day!  I had other jobs in the past that never gave me this sense of satisfaction and I don’t take it for granted.  The difficult choices I made in order to go back to school for this second career and the daily sacrifices my family makes to allow me to work in this field are definitely worth it.

To those of you whom I have worked with already; thank you for allowing me this joy!

Marbles Kids Museum Talk was so Fun!

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I was asked by Marbles Kids Museum to give a presentation at the Museum for the children to accompany their release of the Power to Play exhibit over the summer.  It was so much fun and the kids really were interested in learning about feuling their bodies correctly in order to have the energy to play, go to shcool and have a healthy life.  We did alot of interactive activities to keep them involved and to enhance their learning experience.  I just love to hear the insights children have when learning new things!!

Pick me, I know the answer!!
